Our MissionCROP Hunger Walks are community fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service (CWS), an international relief, development, and refugee resettlement agency. Money raised by CROP Hunger Walks nationwide is used by CWS to provide food, medical care, disaster relief, and self-help development for needy people around the world.
Our CROP Hunger Walk is a part of the Holland Area Hunger Awareness Weekend. On Saturday, May 18, residents of the Holland area are encouraged to donate food as a part of the Postal Service Food drive. On Sunday, walkers can gather at Centennial Park in downtown Holland to enjoy fellowship, food and inspiration. We will walk a 5K loop begining and ending at Centennial Park. Maps showing the route will be distributed at the Walks. Walkers should arrive Sunday between 1:00 and 2:00 pm to register. Locally, the CROP Walk funds will be providing groceries and meals for those in need in our own community. Food donations will be accepted at the walk as well in case you miss the Postal Food Drive. The funds collected in 2024 will be distributed as follows: 25%... to local agencies who help hungry children, individuals, and families: Buen Pastor Migrant Day Care, Christian Neighbors, Community Action House, Evergreen Commons Adult Meal Program, Hand 2 Hand, His Harvest Stand, Holland Rescue Mission, Kids Food Basket, and Salvation Army.
