Our Mission

CROP Hunger Walks are community fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service (CWS), an international relief, development, and refugee resettlement agency.  Money raised by CROP Hunger Walks nationwide is used by CWS to provide food, medical care, disaster relief, and self-help development for needy people around the world.

The Saturday CROP Walk consists of a 5 K loop beginning and ending at Holland Christian High School on Ottawa Avenue, and the Sunday walk is a 3K loop beginning and ending at Beechwood Reformed Church on Ottawa Beach Road. Maps showing the route will be distributed at the Walks. Walkers should arrive Saturday between 8:00 and 9:00 am and on Sunday between 1:30 and 2:30 pm to register. There will be a dedication prayer and send off at 1:45 pm on Sunday for those interested. The theme for the walks is “We Walk Because They Walk,” which reflects the miles many people walk to get their food and find clean water. Locally, the CROP Walk funds will be providing groceries and meals for those in need in our own community. The funds collected in 2017 will be distributed as follows:
